Why do I keep getting knocked off the internet or testing program?

This problem may have to do with your type of internet connection. Dial-up connections are not very reliable and slow, so you may need to find a computer with DSL, broadband, or high speed connection. Another reason for getting kicked-off may have to do with your computers security settings. Some internet providers provide you with security and firewalls. You may have to disable these in order to get connected or stay connected. You can contact your internet provider for help on how to do this. Caution: Be sure to reset your security and firewall settings after testing.

We were disconnected. Will the test resume where we left off?

Yes! The test records every question and will pick back up where you left off. Be sure to pick that test again. NOTE: Please do not pick any tests you have completed or the program will have you do that test again.

How do I change screen resolution?

If the testing program says you need to change screen resolution, then you will need to close down the internet and go back to your desktop screen. Over an empty area of you desktop, right click your mouse. When the box comes up look for a properties button or personal appearance setting. You are looking for a settings button that will allow you to change the screen resolution. We recommend setting it to 1024 x 768. Remember to go back after testing and set the screen resolution back the way you want it.

How come it keeps wanting to repeat a subject test we have already done?

If you keep choosing tests in the test selection window that you have already completed, the system will keep bringing that test back up for you to do again. The testing program is not designed to determine, if you have taken a test already. Be sure to only select tests in the test selection window that you have not completed.

Why do questions for my student seem to hard for their grade level?

These tests are assessing student's knowledge levels. The first question will be at that student's grade level. The next question will get harder or easier according to whether they got the question right or wrong. The tests adapt to that student's abilities. If they are getting hard questions they can not answer, that is normal. The test is trying to determine their knowledge level. The testing program does not expect your student to get every question correctly. These are not a pass or fail tests.
